Every day in Arkansas over 2,000 homeless pets are killed. Many more are abandoned, some after years of abuse or neglect, or after having served in puppy mills or backyard breeding operations. By adopting an animal from Maumelle Friends of the Animals, you will be providing a loving and safe forever home to a very deserving animal. Pet ownership is a serious commitment that the entire household needs to consider and agree to before the animals are adopted. We want to ensure that each adoptive household is aware of, and willing and able to accept the physical and financial responsibilities of pet ownership. Not everyone who desires to own a pet is ready to properly care for one. Our questionnaire will assist both you and us in determining if your household is prepared to assume the role of responsible caretaker for a rescued animal. Thank you for filling it out. Our organization has certain requirements to ensure that our animals will be going to the best possible forever homes. We are all volunteers--not paid employees--who spend countless hours helping homeless animals find loving homes. Our animals are brought up to date on vaccines and spayed/neutered (except in rare cases when age or health makes that impossible) prior to adoption. At the time of adoption there is a requested donation of $55.00. It is important to us that animals are placed in caring homes where they have every opportunity to thrive for the rest of their lives.
